I am a recently retired university professor with a PhD in entomology. I have extensive experience with writing scientific publications in which clarity and precise writing are required. During my many years in academia, I reviewed, rewrote, wordsmithed, and proofread numerous manuscripts, theses, and dissertations prepared by students and colleagues. For 11 years, I was the Managing Editor for a scientific journal. My tasks included helping authors (many international) to write grammatically clean and properly formatted text, proofreading, and copyediting all published articles, over 100 per year. Some authors told me I was the best editor they had ever dealt with. My first language is English, but I am also fluent in Spanish. I am adept at translating Spanish into English after having done this for over 30 years.
