I’ve been a writing consultant, editor, and proofreader for more than 20 years, and I’ve edited, proofread, and critiqued more than 28 million words, including novels, PhD theses, university admissions essays, and academic manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
I’m the holder of a PhD (international studies) from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom. Prior to undertaking doctoral studies, I completed two master’s degrees (translation and international studies), a bachelor's (Spanish language and literature), and a postgraduate diploma (language education). I have various editing and proofreading qualifications and continue to engage in professional development activities. I'm also a member of ACES: The Society for Editing.
Before becoming a writing consultant, I was a language teacher and a freelance translator, so I’ve been working with words for decades. I specialize in working with ESL clients, and I am equally comfortable editing US, British, and Canadian English.
