Editor World Founder Earns Cornell’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Certificate

Patti Fisher, founder and owner of Editor World: Writing, Editing, & Proofreading Services, has proudly completed the Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Cornell, a rigorous Ivy League certificate program developed to empower entrepreneurs with practical business knowledge and growth strategies. The Institute is a collaborative initiative between Bank of America and Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business—delivered entirely online and offered at no cost to participants around the globe.

Fisher joins more than 50,000 global participants who have engaged with the program to sharpen their skills in business strategy, marketing, operations, finance, legal structure, and leadership. The program emphasizes equity and accessibility, with no requirements for prior education or business stage.

“The Cornell program was a great experience. It allowed me to revisit foundational elements of running and growing a business, while giving me new tools to refine Editor World’s long-term strategy,” said Fisher. “Being part of a global cohort of women entrepreneurs was both inspiring and energizing—I gained fresh perspectives and practical insights I’ve already put to use.”

The curriculum, created by Cornell faculty, consists of six structured modules that include the following categories:

  • Customer Discovery – Understanding the needs and behaviors of target clients
  • Legal Considerations – Identifying business structure and risk mitigation strategies
  • Funding Options – Exploring access to capital and managing financial performance
  • Product Development – Refining offerings to better meet customer needs
  • Digital Marketing – Enhancing visibility and reach through effective online strategies
  • Communication Skills – Strengthening leadership, negotiation, and teamwork dynamics

Enrollment is selective and begins with a 30-minute virtual information session hosted by Bank of America. Attendees receive a unique Application Key Code that grants access to the course platform. Open globally, the program has become a launching pad for a new generation of socially conscious, growth-minded entrepreneurs.

“Editor World has grown into a trusted online marketplace for editing and proofreading services because of our commitment to quality, speed, and personalized support,” Fisher added. “The Cornell program reinforced our strengths while offering a clear path forward as we continue to expand globally and refine our service offerings.”
