Patti Fisher founded Editor World in Virginia in 2010, after seeing a need for high-quality editing services in her graduate degree program at Ohio State University. As the only American student in her graduate school cohort, Patti's peers looked to her for help as a paper editor and proofreader. Since founding Editor World, Patti has grown the business to offer a wide range of writing, editing, and proofreading services, and enjoys helping clients and editors around the world find each other.

Patti's lifelong love of words began as a kid, reading several books a week along with copies of Consumer Reports magazine at her local library. She is now a professor of consumer economics, has been published in a number of high-quality academic journals, and serves on editorial boards of peer-reviewed journals.


Outside of Editor World and professorship, Patti enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and traveling. Having traveled to over 50 countries, she appreciates that travel offers so many opportunities to learn new things, to be in awe of the world, and to constantly see the importance of communication. Patti completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program in 2020 and a Certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship through the Bank of America Institute for Women's Entrepreneurship at Cornell University in 2025. Patti enjoys connecting with fellow women business owners and entrepreneurs, and appreciates the different perspectives women bring to business.
